About the Role
The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising and motivating assigned personnel to achieve work schedules and customer commitments. Promotes the business objectives, upholding company doctrines and maintaining corporate confidentiality. Keeps informed and up to date on all processes and advances within his / her area of responsibility.
Key Activities
Direct supervision of production crews in the production of corrugated sheet stock.
On off shifts(afternoons & nights), oversees shipping staff, directs and guides if needed.
Guides and directs crew for paper set-ups, equipment utilization, and optimal process.
Gives input to work schedules to ensure optimum utilization of manpower, materials, and equipment.
Promotes the continuous improvement of products and processes. Identify solutions to issues and investigate and troubleshoot problems.
Ensure that all production equipment is properly maintained.
Promotes a harmonious work environment where fairness, equity, and non-discriminatory practices are the standard. Ensure an ongoing approach of coaching, training, disciplining employees, and enforcing policies and procedures.
Promotes and manages safety within company guidelines.
Supervises the labor force by management guidelines and the Collective Labour Agreement.
Ensures monthly crew meetings occur.
Preferred Skills
Excellent communication skills.
Good understanding of all related roles within his / her field of responsibility.
Education and Experience
Minimum 2 years of community college within a related discipline.
2 years plus of related experience within the Corrugated industry.
