About the Role
The Quality Engineer will develop relationships with manufacturing that foster a positive partnership, facilitate resolution of customers' and internal issues, and drive systems, processes, and continuous improvement.
Key Activities
Contributes effectively toward team goals, exhibits influence within a work group, and continues to develop proficiency in the competency areas critical to success in the role.
Involvement in the specification, implementation, testing, and release of products.
Lead cross-functional teams for root cause analysis and corrective actions. (5 Why and 8D)
Lead continuous improvement project teams and execute changes and improvements to the quality management system.
Lead quality APQP/PPAP initiatives with new or changed products for manufacturing quality.
Coordinates the development of verification and system validation plans from a variety of inputs to identify failure modes while managing risk and relative priority; evaluates analytical and experimental test results following engineering principles to verify that products meet internal technical requirements and to validate those solutions meet customer needs; produces recommendations with technical documentation to support product decisions.
Resolve quality issues with suppliers and customers. Determine the nature of the nonconformance, identify responsibility, and negotiate a mutually acceptable return or rework of the product while preserving the supplier and customer relationship.
Identify, develop, and implement systems and processes that will assure product conformance to specifications, including developing product specifications, procedures, and test methods as required.
Develop SOPs for company processes.
Participate in internal and external quality systems audits as needed.
Participate in SQF and ISO certifications on-site audits.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Basic computer skills (Excel and Word)
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree or Minimum of 10 years experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
