About the Role
The Transportation Supervisor will lead and optimize the transportation department's efforts around IBC’s stated priorities of Safety, People, Quality, Customer Service, and Cost Management.
Key Activities
Lead, develop, and mentor the transportation department to foster employee morale and a team-oriented environment.
Meet or exceed Transportation goals and objectives.
Ensure a superior customer service environment.
Create effective dispatch schedules to meet customers’ needs and maximize driver efficiency.
Manage fleet maintenance program.
Work with and coordinate third-party carriers as necessary. Develop relationships to ensure reliable service.
Foster an atmosphere where safety is a priority with an emphasis on protecting company assets and preventing injuries.
Optimize backhaul opportunities.
Ensure proper training of new hires and ongoing training of current employees.
Maintain compliance requirements and adherence to DOT regulations, including hours of service, vehicle maintenance, and driver safety standards.
Preferred Skills
College Degree is strongly preferred.
Education and Experience
Minimum two years of experience in management or leadership role.
Transportation experience and an understanding of logistics.
Valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class A).
Knowledge of logistics in a manufacturing environment.
