About the Role
The Supply Chain Manager will coordinate all aspects of the plant's raw and finished goods operations to ensure the highest quality products meet company performance and safety standards, customer specifications, and delivery requirements.
Key Activities
Employee training and development
Interface with Sales, Customer Service, and Quality to ensure customer satisfaction, develop or customize products, etc.
The manager of Supply Chain will report to the President. Purchasing, 2 shipping/receiving supervisors, and the scheduler will report directly to the Manager of the Supply Chain.
Work closely with the Manager of Operations to verify the schedule is being completed promptly.
Quickly resolve any schedule-related problems that occur.
Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs.
Verify all raw materials needed for production are available.
Track orders and ensure timely delivery.
Update internal databases with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, discounts).
Maintain updated records of invoices and contracts.
Follow up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders.
Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition.
Liaise with offsite warehouse staff to ensure all products are in good condition.
Preferred Skills
Leadership skills in directing, motivating, and training employees.
Experience in lean manufacturing/continuous improvement concepts and culture.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree with a preference in logistics or business.
Minimum of 5 years experience in logistics environments with a preference for beef processing experience with 2+ years in a lead management role.
Knowledge of the workings of a meat facility complying with USDA/OSHA standards as well as an understanding of HAACP plans and food safety certification requirements.
