About the Role
The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for developing associates under his/her direct supervision. Also responsible for supporting and accomplishing goals and objectives using the team management approach by working closely with other departments, especially Production and Engineering.
Key Activities
Possess a strong background in mechanical and electrical skills.
Must be able to troubleshoot mechanical equipment problems.
Keep abreast of the latest manufacturing technologies and systems.
Meets daily to discuss and resolve problems relating to production equipment, and work order status, and provide feedback on work status and backing.
Meets as needed to order parts, and clarify purchase requisitions.
Ensure that associates under his/her supervision follow all company safety procedures and comply with personal protection equipment (PPE) requirements.
Assigns work to mechanics in his/her area of responsibility.
Ensures that proper sanitation is performed after maintenance has been performed on all production line equipment.
Promotes and maintains positive relationships between intermittent levels of management and maintenance associates.
Requires advanced technical and working knowledge of computerized maintenance programs.
Must be knowledgeable of preventative maintenance techniques and can to develop preventive programs from vendor manuals.
Must be familiar with food processing and packaging equipment and parts.
Ability to plan and take initiative in resolving problems.
Working knowledge of OSHA, USDA, and GMP requirements about maintenance activities at a food processing facility.
All maintenance shop equipment inspections for compliance with safety requirements
Ensures that daily work schedules maximize mechanic utilization, evaluates paperwork turned in, and provides timely and meaningful feedback on work completed or pending.
Maintains the MaintScape software and implements program enhancements as they become available.
Prioritizes work orders and ensures completion.
Develop equipment maintenance history downtime reports.
Preferred Skills
Minimum 5 yrs experience in fresh meat production environment preferred.
Knowledge of financial statements.
Education and Experience
High school diploma/ BS Degree in a related field.
10+ years’ experience in Maintenance Management.
