About the Role
The Human Resources Director will be responsible for developing company strategies by sourcing, recruiting and hiring individuals from all walks of life.
Key Activities
Assists in maintaining Company operations and financial strategies by estimating, forecasting, and anticipating requirements needed for staffing.
Works closely with production management to comply with these staffing needs and meet production standards.
Manages Company affairs with the United Food and Commercial Workers Union. This includes input into collective bargaining agreements, negotiations, detailed issues involving the grievance and/or arbitration process, regular meetings with representatives, and applications.
Employee relations including advising, guiding, counselling, and performance management. Also, disciplinary action regarding conflicts and disputes.
Manages human resources operations by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, and counselling a staff of three (3) individuals.
Serves as task backup for all functions of the human resources employees.
Manages weekly payroll processes for all hourly paid employees.
Stays current on human resource trends by identifying and researching human resources issues.
Guides management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies.
Supports management by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decisions.
Maintains federal, state, and local legal requirements by being familiar and up-to-date with employment law and compliance with these laws.
Assists Chief Financial Officer with management and selection of benefits and their components.
Updates job knowledge by participating in conferences and educational opportunities.
Maintains all social integrity audit processes for visits by customers and/or their audit representatives. Supervises the audit visits and the corrective action needed to satisfy each audit.
Accomplishes special project results by identifying and clarifying issues and priorities.
Directs the occupational safety focus of our Company through training.
OSHA compliance, workers compensation management, Company safety committee, and regular safety monitoring within the facility.
Preferred Skills
Good problem-solving skills
Knowledge of UKG payroll systems
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or related business management field
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in human resources.
