About the Role

The 3rd Party Co-packing Lead will be responsible for driving sourcing and supply chain strategy for 3rd party manufacturing. The geographic scope of work is global as our brands and operating facilities operate throughout North America.

Key Activities

  • Leads the sourcing function for fresh produce and indirect spending for relevant annual spending across multiple manufacturing plants and various support operations. Develop and maintain yearly plans for cost, quality, and service improvements.

  • Serve as a key member of the commodity sourcing team, assisting the team with developing, implementing, communicating, and continuously improving Insignia’s sourcing strategy.

  • Be responsible for creating, deploying, and continuously improving commodity strategies for assigned spend. Specific expertise in wheat, edible oils, packaging substrates and similar commodities is highly desired. Create simple and clear cost-out summaries for various scenarios and ongoing purchases to show Leadership results of strategy and priorities.

  • Effectively create and manage the RFI and RFQ process to identify opportunities.

  • Maintain and develop an approved supplier list including approved supplier list by part showing good, better, and best options.

  • Travel to the source of supply locations to build relationships, and assess quality, and compliance. Travel to remote locations on occasion.

  • Partner with the team to ensure that defined best practices & designated tools and procedures are comprehensively deployed across the region and that sourcing projects are flawlessly executed.

  • Develop and execute cost innovation and risk management strategies to provide value.  Manage inflation mitigation and supply chain risks.

  • Implement gold-standard contracts across a strategic supplier base. Negotiate strategic supplier contracts, and develop innovative pricing models and agreements to deliver value to brands.

  • Effectively communicate plans and impacts to leadership through the development of succinct business cases.

  • Prefers Spanish speaking

Education and Experience

  • Must have experience with produce, spring rolls, tortillas, chips, nuggets, chili peppers.

  • Must have superior skills with Excel
