About the Role

The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the PM shift, including packaging operations, employee training, scheduling, sanitation, and food safety.

Key Activities

  • Oversee daily packaging operations to ensure productivity, quality, and safety goals are met.

  • Manage employee scheduling, including staffing adjustments to meet production needs.

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and training to ensure staff are proficient in food safety standards and operating procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, SSOPs, and OSHA regulations, maintaining a safe working environment.

  • Collaborate with the sanitation team to guarantee cleanliness and adherence to food safety guidelines.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize packaging processes, reduce waste, and enhance efficiency.

  • Monitor production metrics and identify opportunities to improve throughput and minimize downtime.

  • Work closely with union representatives to maintain a positive working environment and resolve any labour-related issues.

  • Ensure proper record-keeping and reporting in alignment with company and regulatory requirements.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, SSOPs, OSHA, and food safety regulations

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management or equivalent field

  • 5 - 10 years of experience in an operations manager lead, supervisory, or foreman capacity

  • Responsible for entire plant operation including up to 75 employees with a junior manager

  • Need manufacturing processing experience, specifically Packaging experience is a must
