About the Role
The Packaging Manager will be responsible for managing packaging operations in an automated dry pasta manufacturing plant to achieve goals for quality, safety and productivity.
Key Activities
Take ownership of quality control, productivity, work-flow, packaging and process improvement in retail packaging area
Review performance data, goal achievement and develop/ follow-through with action registers to ensure continuous improvement of operating lines
Staff management including but not limited to hiring, training, scheduling, employee relations, mentoring, performance reviews and disciplinary functions
Monitor and recommend improvements in processes to increase efficiency of packaging department
Drive employee engagement, training and development to maximize manufacturing, quality, safety, and productivity goal attainment
Promote a culture of high performance and accountability in employee and product safety and maintain an environment that fosters effective communication, teamwork, and positive employee relations
Provide strategic and tactical direction to the packaging team and key support to Plant Management
Provide leadership for assessing and enhancing plant capabilities, including capacity management and support for new product initiatives.
Identify and promote continuous improvement processes within the operation
Ensure that work areas are free from clutter, clean and follow 5 S principles
Develop/revise operating procedures to ensure success
Complete all documentation and paperwork requirements on a timely basis
Training and Support: Develop and deliver training programs for staff on regulatory compliance requirements, covering both domestic and international standards.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of FDA guidelines and GMP.
Education and Experience
Industry experience required.
Experience packaging capsules, tablets, powders, gummies, pouch filling, pet supplements.
Dietary supplement / pharma experience.
