About the Role
The Plant Manager will be responsible for the overall operation of our tortilla manufacturing facility. You will lead a team of 15 employees across three shifts, ensuring efficient production, compliance with USDA and HACCP regulations, and the maintenance of a safe and productive work environment.
Key Activities
Facility Management: Oversee daily operations of the tortilla manufacturing plant, ensuring smooth workflow and optimal performance across three shifts from Monday to Thursday.
Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor a team of 15 employees, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Production Oversight: Monitor and manage production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and adherence to production schedules.
USDA Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with USDA and HACCP regulations and industry standards, including food safety, sanitation, and quality control.
Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control procedures to maintain high standards of product quality and safety.
Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in production processes and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
Safety Management: Enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment and comply with OSHA regulations.
Reporting: Prepare and present reports on production performance, quality metrics, and any issues or concerns to senior management.
Preferred Skills
USDA Compliance: Demonstrated knowledge and experience with USDA compliance and food safety regulations. Responsible for working with Quality program staff to ensure plant SQF audit performance
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management or equivalent experience
Bilingual - English and Spanish
5 years of experience in an operations manager lead, supervisory, or foreman capacity
Responsible for entire plant operation including up to 15 employees.
Need manufacturing processing experience - make Tostadas, chips, tortillas, masa
Past roles must show a progression of increasing responsibility with a minimum of five (5) years in a management/supervisor role
