About the Role

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for leading a team of five to seven machine maintenance and repair professionals. This includes both managerial and hands-on responsibilities.

Key Activities

  • Assuring that all the machines are maintained and in outstanding working order; assessing project requirements, measuring performance of mechanical components, devices and systems.

  • You will direct and develop improvements to the effectiveness and productivity of existing equipment, and solutions for areas of inefficiency and non-conformance.

  • You will be working closely with the senior management, providing guidance on production improvements, new machinery, and various other needs within the facility. This provides you with the opportunity to have a voice in setting both current and long-term production strategies, deployment of resources, and key priorities for the plant.

  • Additional responsibilities include training and development of maintenance staff and creating training modules for maintenance technicians. Implement and maintain a total preventive maintenance program for all equipment.

  • Manage the creation of technical documents including prints, manuals, software and programs. Manage and install capital improvement projects and assist in the design, purchase and installation of production equipment.

  • Troubleshoot PLC’s, AC/DC drive systems, tension and heat control loops as necessary.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in printing/converting industry preferred but not necessary.

Education and Experience

  • B.S. Engineering degree, Manufacturing Engineering or related field preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an engineering role or similar in a manufacturing operation.
