About the Role
The Packaging Engineer will be responsible for the development, optimization, and maintenance of packaging solutions for our diverse range of branded food products Working closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, production, procurement, and quality assurance.
Key Activities
Lead the design and development of packaging solutions tailored to specific product requirements, ensuring compatibility with our manufacturing processes and supply chain.
Conduct feasibility studies, material selection, and testing to assess the performance and suitability of packaging materials such plastics, glass, metals, and corrugate materials.
Collaborate with R&D to innovate new packaging designs and technologies that enhance product freshness, shelf life, and consumer convenience.
Identify opportunities for packaging optimization to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize environmental impact.
Conduct packaging line trials and performance evaluations to optimize packaging processes and minimize waste generation.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance packaging performance and address any issues related to product integrity or customer satisfaction.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and certifications.
Ensure compliance with relevant food safety regulations and industry standards in all aspects of packaging design, labeling, and documentation.
Work closely with quality assurance teams to conduct risk assessments, address packaging-related quality issues, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Stay informed about emerging trends, regulations, and best practices in food packaging technology, and proactively apply this knowledge to maintain our competitive edge.
Develop and implement packaging specs to ensure product consistency and adherence to company standards.
Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to address any issues related to packaging quality or safety.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Packaging engineering/ Chemical engineering with 2+ years of food packaging development, preferably in food or pharmaceutical industry
Strong understanding of packaging materials, technologies, and processes, with experience in PET and PP tubs, glass jars, metal lids, corrugates and barrier films.
