About the Role

The Sanitation Lead will be responsible for directing all activities necessary for cleaning and sanitizing the production, packaging, dry and cold storage areas, and all production equipment daily in multiple areas of the facility and ensuring that all duties are performed in accordance with SSOP (Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures).

Key Activities

  • Responsible for scheduling and directing the industrial hygiene team on weekends for sanitation/janitorial duties.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks to maximize efficiency and thoroughness of cleaning and ensure safety policies are followed.

  • Performing daily inspections of the manufacturing facility and reporting irregularities to the Sanitation Manager.

  • Ensure the plant is cleaned daily and ready to start production on time.

  • Disassembles, and sanitizes machines, processing equipment, and other equipment as required and reassembles all equipment and machinery for production runs.

  • Follow all company policies and procedures and the GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices).

  • Follow company guidelines regarding occupational safety including wearing appropriate PPE and following LOTO.

  • Report any unsafe or hazards work conditions or concerns to plant supervision.

  • Communicate suggestions for improvement.

  • Work in hot and wet processing areas, work in loud processing and packaging areas also in cold warehouses.

  • Maintain a neat/clean/safe work area to prevent injury or product contamination.

  • Dilute chemicals to correct PPM. 

Preferred Skills

  • Fluency: Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred

Education and Experience

  • 3 years of experience in Food Safety sanitation in the food production industry

  • Must have schedule flexibility and be available for overtime, nights, and weekends.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift throughout shift.
