About the Role

A BDM is responsible for his team in researching and pursuing new business leads for the growth of the business. The role involves active coordination across teams and demands exceptional inter-personal skills.

The primary goal of this role is to drive and increase sales opportunities and thereby maximize revenue for the organization. To achieve this, the individual needs to navigate the team to find potential new customers, speak to them and ultimately help convert them into clients and continue to grow business in the future.

Key Activities

The role of a Business Development Manager is to assist the organization's sales and growth efforts by contributing to new customer acquisition. They should be able to provide ideas to attract new clients and keep the senior management updated about marketplace and competitor activity. This role will report directly to Senior Management.


Some typical responsibilities of the BD Team woulinclude;

  • Build contacts with potential clients to create new business opportunities

  • Keep prospective client database updated

  • Make cold calls for new business leads

  • Support in writing new business proposals

  • Maintain knowledge of alproduct and service offerings of the company

  • Arrange meetings for senior management with prospective clients

  • Prepare present periodic business reviews to management

  • Follow company guidelines and procedures for acquisition of customers, submission of tenders

Preferred Skills

  • Industry with good exposure in UMarket

  • Ability to help build, lead, and manage team of 4-8 business development specialists

  • Must be willing to start out in a hands-on sales role while growing the team

  • Experience working a nightshift/US process

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills

  • Must be detail oriented and an active listener

  • Ability to work undepressure

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years' experience managing a business development/sales team

  • 10 years+ experience in BPO Sales/ Business Development roles/ Direct Sales in Recruitment
